Finals Affirmations Fall 2018 Day 6

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

“God I ask you..” This has probably been you a lot this finals season, and honestly a lot this semester. I get it, because it was me too! The great thing about our Father is that He’s always accessible and willing to grant His children their desires, according to His will.

When we ask God for things, we need to ask Him and have faith that He will come through for us. Sometimes it can be hard, though, because it may seem like what we’re asking for is “impossible”. What I know about Him is that God does the impossible, but we need to have faith that He will do what we asked of Him. The thing is, sometimes we ask Him for something and then moments later we begin doubting that He will give us the thing we asked for. Faith and doubt do not mix. In fact, James 1 says that if we ask something in faith, then begin to doubt, we shouldn’t expect anything from God because it makes us “unstable”.

Today, ask God for the thing you’re seeking. Maybe it’s wisdom, maybe it’s understanding, maybe it’s a certain grade, or grace for a certain assignment. Whatever it is believe that He will grant it to you and even expect that He will do it. Do not allow doubt to enter your mind. When those thoughts start creeping in, say “Why would I even think that? That’s not the kind of God I serve. He has done it before and he can do it again.”
