Spring '19 Finals Affirmations Day 3

“I Don’t Mind Waiting”

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Most importantly, without faith, it is impossible to please God. These are pretty important things to remember, because life is full of moments where you have to believe in invisible things that take forever to be visible. The truth is, we are all somewhat on the clock. We have goals and dreams that we would like to accomplish by certain times and ages. No matter how realistic or unrealistic they may be, we create an environment and develop a mindset around time. In our minds we don’t have much of it, and it’s definitely not on our side. What I believe God is saying to us is to trust Him with our clocks.  God is eternal. He isn’t doing anything that isn’t already....DONE to Him. He has seen our beginning, our worst day, our best day, our dying day, and everything else in between. There’s actually no need for Him to do a new thing in your life, because He DID a new thing; it is only us in our physical body and finite mind that have to catch up. We must learn patience, the godly kind. Patience that is matched with joy, trust, and no murmuring or complaining. We know that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew in strength. Waiting for manifestation of the promises of God can be taxing. You begin to worry about what isn’t done, what doesn’t make sense, and how long it’ll take; however, strength is being renewed in you and your faith (the same faith that you need to please God) grows. It’s all about love and trust to Him. He wants you to trust His judgment, His timing, knowing that it’s all working for your good and His glory. He hasn’t held off on answers or provision because He wants you to be tormented by lack, but He wants you to grow in love, faith, and relationship with Him. He wants you to love Him and know Him in His truest essence enough to give Him your clock. Give Him your schedule. Give Him your to do list. Give Him your time. Don’t demonize the wait, but see it as a means to know more of God. The more you know about Him, the more you won’t mind waiting.
