3 Reminders

This week’s been crazy. It’s been overwhelming, but God has brought me through & for that I am forever grateful. Because of so many things this week, I was unable to write a normal post. Instead, I have a few things that I was reminded of this week:
1. It’s okay to not to be okay
This life is not always rainbows and sunshine, which is okay. Our walks with God aren’t like that either. God tells us that things will come our way, but it’s what we do in these moments that really shape who we are. It’s important to be transparent in these times because you never know what people are going through unless they tell you. Transparency brings people closer and also gives opportunity for people to be praying for you (intercession), which is so powerful.
2. You cannot take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself.
A lot of the time we make others a priority over ourselves, and while that’s not always a bad thing, in fact even encouraged, we still need to know when to say, “Okay, I need to focus on me.” You might be like me where it’s hard to say no to people, so instead of saying to others, you say no to yourself. This can lead to burnout and your body will tell you it’s had enough but if you don’t listen to it, it will start telling you in a louder fashion. Take time everyday for yourself.
3. Integrity, integrity, integrity
What do you do when no one’s watching? When we’re alone, sometimes we forget God is right there with us. If we walk alongside him, our behavior would constantly (I hope) be the same. What we do when we assume no one’s checking us is just as important as what we do when we can clearly be seen. God sees it all. Being more than one person is tiring, if we are the same always we can live with a clear conscience and a pure heart.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
-‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬‬
