Priceless

You are priceless to me. I love you and honor you (Isaiah 43:4, NIRV).

priceless (adj.): so precious that its value cannot be determined.

This past year I’ve gained more understanding of how God sees me. Let me tell you, when you finally internalize that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, everything changes. You begin to glow, walk taller, and feel an unexplainable joy. 10/10, I recommend. Everyone deserves this feeling.

But this week I’ve been struggling with self-worth. It’s crazy because I’ve finally come to a comfortable place of who I am and all of a sudden, something’s off. Sometimes it feels like other people don’t recognize your worth, so they think they can treat you any type of way and you’ll be okay with it. That used to be true for me, I wasn’t confident in myself at all, so I would let others do or say whatever to me just because I thought that was the treatment I deserved.  And now that I’m learning more about my value, for others to think they can treat me as less than what I am hurts even more.

It wasn’t until I began to read my Bible more that I finally began to understand that God loves me and favors me, despite all my flaws. And to have the One who created you see you as perfect is the biggest compliment and probably the one we dismiss the most often. We know that no human is perfect, and of course God knows it too, so just imagine how much he truly values us. To him, we’re priceless. So when people try to invalidate our worth, we need to remember who our Creator is and the many ways he expresses his approval of who he created.

God wouldn’t lie to us. In His word, he constantly reminds us how excellent we are, how he cares about us, and how he loves us. Get into your Bibles and see how God sees you! When you hear something over and over again, you begin to remember it and even believe in it.

–Much love,
