Slow to Anger

This week’s moods have been “This is the day the Lord has made but not the day to try it” (Thanks sis)  and “Not today, Satan

Socially, it’s been a hard week. A week full of difficult conversations, over thinking, and many people not following the script to the scenes I made in my head for certain moments.

It’s hard to deal with people sometimes. We can be really inconsiderate sometimes, especially in an individualistic society. We’re always thinking about ourselves and not so much about the people around us. With that, we don’t always think about the feelings of those around us.

Effective communication is a very key skill that I’ve been working on this week (PSA: IT’S SO HARD, but so worth it). It’s vital to know how to talk to people but also how to receive things. It’s important to not act out on emotions, but to give ourselves time to process things. Our negative can sometimes cause us to make decisions that we wouldn’t normally make. It’s important to give yourself (and others) space to process. On the other side, it’s important to take in everything that’s been said and try to understand where the other person is coming from. These things are not easy, but with conscious practice and some help from God, it can be attained.

A verse that really helped me this week is the one above telling us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Remember to take your time and also give people space. Also remember, not everything needs an immediate reaction. Don’t allow your emotions to take over.

Much love always,
