5 Things From This Week

School started back up for me this week. It’s been quite a week!

Here are 5 things that I was reminded of this week:

1. Put God first

This is not the time to leave God out of things. This is the best time to figure out who He really is for ourselves. College is a time where it can be really easy to flop on your faith because there’s so many distractions around you. With effort and pray, you really can keep God at the center, as He should be.

2. Protect your peace

People will try to cause unnecessary stress in your life, but listen, don’t let the small things get to you. Remember not everything needs a reaction, but also don’t allow people to walk over you. Say what you need to say to protect your peace of mind and if people don’t want to respect your wishes *hits dem folks and does drop*

3. Plan, plan, plan

College can be *hectic* Make use of the calendar on your phone or laptop and also keep a planner. Write everything down, pencil things in, get color coordinated, do anything you can to remember your daily tasks. Sometimes you’ll slip up, and that’s okay, but try to prevent that as early and as best as you can!

4. Don’t forget yourself

You cannot conquer the world if you’re not around. Invest in yourself. Find your simple, and even not so simple, pleasures and indulge in them from time to time. Spend at least 10-15 min everyday doing something alone. Take care of yourself, so you’ll be full and prepared to take care of someone else.

5. God always hears you

He cares. He’s a Father who wants to see His children do well. Don’t think for a second he doesn’t hear you. He listens to your quick “Lord help me”s just as much as He listens to you when you’re on your knees in His presence. He listens to His loved ones and sees/hears the desires of our hearts. Always take everything up with Him and He will see you through.

This is going to be a great school year, one filled with blessings and success. Claim it, believe it, and work towards it.
