Finish Strong

It’s crazy when I sit down and think about how 2017 is closer to its end than its beginning. July is pretty much over and summer is winding down, but I can still picture exactly where I was and what I was doing on December 31 going into January 1st. I will never get over how quickly time can pass by.

If you’ve been following my posts for a while, you may remember My Prayer for 2017. If not, just click that link! I sometimes forget some things I’ve prayed so I’ve gotten into the habit of writing them down more frequently. I was just thinking about how much I’ve been seeing people around me really winning and thriving. It’s been amazing to see and something I prayed for and continue to pray for. It’s truly amazing to see how God brings your prayers to life.

But sometimes things happen and we get in the way of our own success. Did you set some goals for this year? Did you pray, in January, for some things to happen? Did you fall off with some things you wanted to achieve this year? The good news is that even though 2017 is just a bit over halfway done, we still have time to finish those things we set for ourselves. And the reason is because we have a God who is there for us and ready to help us chase even our wildest dreams if we believe and put our trust in Him. It’s easy to get discouraged when we begin to walk away from our goals but God is like that involved Dad who comes to all your games and cheers your on no matter what because He knows exactly what you’re capable of.

I definitely had a goal to read the Bible everyday and definitely fell off lol. It was a big jump from what I was previously doing but when I realized I fell off from something that would really benefit me I rededicated that goal to God again and regained my focus. I still have some days where I miss the mark, but my effort still remains and my motivation is still there. And to be honest, sometimes all God really wants is our conscious effort. It’s something needed in any good relationship.

Go out and find what you wanted to do in January and get back on track. Find your focus and endure the race with the time you have left. You’ll be happy that you did when you’re reflecting upon the year at the end of December. You got this. I believe in you & so does He!

Much love always,

Kumam 💛
