Finals Affirmations Day 3
Today’s post is a throwback from one of my first Finals Affirmations series. It’s something I still use during my finals season, and really anytime I need a reminder to keep pushing, so I wanted to bring it back:
My favorite part of “I WIll Fight” by Stephen Furtick is when he says,
“I will not procrastinate my progress. I will not defer my destiny. I will not waiver when I’m weak. I will not cower when my circumstances take a turn for the worst. Because greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. I will fight.”
As it is commonly said, we are our own worst enemies. We really know how to let lies enter our mind and takeover. We allow laziness to settle. We wait till the last minute to finish our 5+ page paper that we’ve known about for at least two weeks. We constantly fight to make our 11:59 deadlines. The list can go on.
I’m not here to drag you, please believe me I was dragging myself too. I am here to let you know that you can be your biggest roadblock and to tell you to it’s time to stop.
Stop letting those lies in your head. Stop waiting. Stop being so passive and do something! There’s work that needs to be put in to get to where you need to go and it can’t do itself. You’re much closer than you think to your goals. You just need to push a little bit more. And remember, God is right there with you to cheer you on, to give you that extra push you may need, to wipe your sweat and tears. Don’t forget He’s there, because He never forgets you.
Listen and believe this: I Will Fight - Steven Furtick
