Finals Affirmations Day 2 - Pascal Adesina

In through the nose.

(say the word “Mississippi 5 times in your head as you inhale)

Out through the mouth.

(now do Watermelon”)

*repeat until you’re calm enough to keep reading. I could feel you not breathing through the screen*

I’ve come to understand that God is the God of all things — beginning, middle, and end.

As assuring as this is, we’re nowhere near the beginning, and we just had midterms a while ago. So it’s important to remember and understand that God is the God of the end as well.

As much as your education may have been forced upon you, and you may not like it, God is using this time to do some amazing work in you. “…Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it (until the day of Jesus Christ;)”

Philippians 1:6 NKJV

God isn’t in the business of cliffhangers, leaving you wondering, or filling your mind with doubt just to swoop in at the last second. God was with you when you started the semester, and He wants to help you finish it strong.

I found it easier to believe this once I put these two scriptures in tandem:

“Remember the prior things—from long ago; I am God, and there’s no other. I am God! There’s none like me, who tells the end at the beginning, from ancient times things not yet done, saying, “My plan will stand; all that I decide I will do,””

Isaiah 46:9-10 CEB

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV

Asking God for what we want and need is easier (and expected!) when we understand that He wants the same things for us.

Remember to talk to Him, study hard, breathe, and keep moving forward.
