It’s crazy when I sit down and think about how 2017 is closer to its end than its beginning. July is pretty much over and summer is winding down, but I can still picture exactly where I was and what I was doing on December 31 going into January 1st. I will never get over how quickly time can pass by.
Read MoreWhen those hard times come, don’t be silent about it. Remember your life is your ministry? Show people how God has used you for his glory and talk about these things so you will find the support that you need in these hard times. God doesn’t need you to be perfect. And making it seem like you are would be an injustice to Him and His glory.
If you know people are watching, show them what your God can do.
Read MoreThink about this: when you’re young as a Christian you ask Jesus into your…heart. To make your heart His home. The condition of your heart is vital to keep in mind. You clean up your house from time to time, don’t you? In the same way, it’s good for us to check the conditions of our hearts and clear whatever is blocking it from properly functioning.
Read MoreSelf check: Are you an example to those around you? If you were someone else, would you be your friend? Do your words and your works match up or are you saying you live one way, but your actions convey another? These are some things to really think about.
Read MoreThis week’s moods have been “This is the day the Lord has made but not the day to try it” (Thanks sis) and “Not today, Satan”
Read MoreI’m practicing this new habit where I take time to just talk to God. Not necessarily pray, but really just speak to Him, like I’m speaking to any other human being. I’ve done it before, just not consistently, but I decided this summer I’m going to make it more of a habit because I have a lot of time and no excuses. Some of my friends have unknowingly encouraged me to try it more often.
Read MoreWe need to be careful not only with what we say, but also how we say it so we’re not losing people. Think about it this way: If you were a nonbeliever, is what you’re saying something that would offend me? Would it make me want to continue listening to you or ignore everything else you’re saying?
Read MoreHow can it be ‘Good’ Friday, if Jesus died on this day?” I used to think the same thing. What makes this day so good if Our Fave left us on this day? I’m sure if His disciples heard us calling it this around that time, they would’ve had a fit. But this Friday can known as a good one, because it was only the beginning
Read MoreEven friendships grounded in Him have rough times, and we have to remind ourself to act and speak in love and through His spirit rather that through emotions. Consider everything very carefully and ensure you hear from the Lord when it comes to potentially ending friendships!
Read MoreIt wasn’t until I began to read my Bible more that I finally began to understand that God loves me and favors me, despite all my flaws. And to have the One who created you see you as perfect is the biggest compliment and probably the one we dismiss the most often.
Read MoreWhen I got to HS, though, something changed. I had an encounter with God and He showed me that I could have a relationship with Him right now. I always remember seeing others so into worship and so excited and on fire for Jesus and always saying, I can’t wait ‘til I’m like that, but what I didn’t realize that the only thing stopping me from being like them was myself.
Read MoreIt’s amazing to me how our God is Living. He hears the cries of His own and sees the desires of our hearts. He listens and grants us the things he believes we truly need. It’s never a one way street. We speak, He listens. We ask, He gives. It’s an awesome feeling.
Read MorePeople should know we’re Christians not just because we say we are, but also because of how we live. We’re supposed to be representatives of Christ here on Earth. We are called to love like Christ loved, to spread the Good News like He did as well, and try our absolute best to live the way God desires for us to live.
Read MoreWhen we were growing up, we heard many times, “Because I said so” as a reason not to do something. Sometimes, even when we heard this, we still did it anyway. Why? It’s not likely that we deliberately wanted to disobey instruction, but 9 times out of 10, it’s because we’re curious.
Read More“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
-Philippians 4:8
All these things are things I’ve learned are the way my life will change for the better. I pray that you’re able to achieve all you desire in this year. You can do it, just remember to put Him first.
Read MoreIt’s good to be open about the things we’ve done wrong. There’s power in admitting our wrongs. It’s how we get the help that we need. Once we’re transparent, God recognizes our honesty and sends us the help that we need to get back on track.
Read MoreI used to think that I forgave people pretty easily. Someone would apologize and I would say it’s okay, but still hold grudges towards them. And if they did something to me again, I’d remember the last thing they did and add it to the current situation. But I learned that’s not love and it’s not really forgiveness either.
